Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 July 2026

The short version: we build you a website for a one-off £280 fee and host it for £20 a month, cancel anytime. The free mockup you see before paying anything is an illustrative preview, not a finished product. If you're not happy with your finished site, tell us within 14 days and we'll refund the build fee in full. The full terms below cover the detail and your legal rights — please read them.

1. Who we are

This website at koalaweb.io (the "Site") and the website-build and hosting service described on it (the "Service") are operated by KoalaWeb ("KoalaWeb", "we", "us" or "our"), a UK business.

You can contact us at hello@koalaweb.io. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

2. Agreeing to these terms

By browsing the Site, using the mockup tool, or buying the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the Site or the Service.

The Service is intended for businesses and self-employed people buying a website for their trade, business or profession, and you confirm that you are acting for those purposes and have the authority to accept these Terms on behalf of the business you represent (for example, if you're an employee or contractor instructing us).

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Site or buy the Service.

3. The free mockup tool

The Site lets you paste in your existing website address (or business name) and see a generated preview of what a new KoalaWeb site could look like (a "Mockup"). The Mockup is:

  • built automatically, using publicly available information about the business you entered (such as its existing website content and photos) together with template designs and AI-assisted content generation;
  • an illustrative, non-binding starting point only — it is not a finished product, is not guaranteed to be accurate, and may contain placeholder text, stock imagery, or mistakes we haven't had a chance to fix;
  • free to generate and view, with no obligation to buy anything; and
  • rate-limited and subject to a daily usage budget, so the tool may occasionally serve a simpler, template-only preview or be temporarily unavailable if usage is unusually high.

You must only enter a website or business you are authorised to request a preview for (typically, your own business). We may remove or refuse to generate a Mockup at our discretion, including where we suspect misuse.

A saved Mockup is a sales preview, not a live website. It only goes live for the public if you buy the Service and we deploy it, as described below.

4. The website build & hosting service

Once you approve a Mockup and pay the one-off build fee, we will:

  1. turn the Mockup into your finished site using the business details, photos, hours, menu and contact information you give us;
  2. share a version for your review and make reasonable revisions you request; and
  3. publish ("go live") the finished site on a web address of its own once you've approved it.

While your monthly hosting fee is active, we also host the site, keep it running, make small ongoing updates on request (for example, changing your hours, adding a photo, or updating your menu), and provide reasonable email support at hello@koalaweb.io. "Small updates" means changes that don't amount to a redesign or a new section of the site — we'll tell you if something you ask for is outside that scope and quote separately for it.

Any timelines we give (for example, "live in a week") are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates, and depend on how quickly you provide the content, photos and approvals we need from you.

If we need to register a domain name or third-party service on your behalf, we'll agree this with you first and pass through any third-party cost at cost, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

5. Pricing and payment

  • The one-off build fee is £280, payable before we start building your site.
  • The hosting fee is £20 per month, billed in advance from the date your site goes live, for as long as your hosting subscription remains active.
  • All prices are shown in pounds sterling. Where we are required to charge VAT, it will be added at the applicable rate and shown before you pay.
  • We may change our prices for new orders at any time by updating the Site; a price change will never apply retroactively to a build fee you've already paid, and we'll give existing hosting customers at least 30 days' notice before any change to the monthly hosting fee takes effect.
  • If a payment fails or a recurring hosting payment isn't received, we'll try to contact you before suspending the site; continued non-payment may result in the site being taken offline, as described in section 16.

6. Our 14-day money-back guarantee

If you're not happy with the finished site we deliver, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we will refund the one-off £280 build fee in full — no questions asked. To claim the guarantee, email hello@koalaweb.io within that 14-day window.

Once the guarantee is used, we'll take the site offline and any hosting fees paid for the same period will also be refunded on a pro-rata basis; hosting fees for periods before that aren't covered, as they relate to hosting already provided. The guarantee applies once per business and doesn't affect your other legal rights, including your rights under section 12 (Warranties).

7. Your content and responsibilities

To build and maintain your site, we need you to provide accurate, up-to-date business information, and any text, photos, logos or other material you'd like us to use ("Your Content"). By giving us Your Content, you confirm that:

  • you own it or have the right to let us use it in your site;
  • it doesn't infringe anyone else's intellectual property, privacy or other rights; and
  • it doesn't contain anything unlawful, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.

Where you don't provide enough content for a section of the site (for example, no photos), we may use suitable stock imagery or AI-generated placeholder content and flag it to you for approval before the site goes live. We never invent facts about your business (opening hours, pricing, claims, and so on) — anything we're missing is flagged to you rather than guessed.

8. Intellectual property

Once you've paid the build fee in full, you own the final content of your site (your business name, text, photos and other materials you provided or approved for it). We grant you a licence to use the underlying page design, code and templates for as long as we host the site for you, or until you export it as described below.

We (or our licensors) own all rights in the KoalaWeb name, logo, the Site, the mockup tool, our page templates, and the software and technology used to build and host sites — nothing in these Terms transfers those rights to you.

We may reference your business name and a screenshot of your finished site in our own marketing and portfolio (for example, on this Site). If you'd rather we didn't, just let us know at hello@koalaweb.io and we'll take it down.

9. Acceptable use

When using the Site, the mockup tool, or the Service, you agree not to:

  • use them for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that breaches anyone else's rights;
  • submit a website or business to the mockup tool that you're not authorised to request a preview for;
  • attempt to circumvent our rate limits or usage budgets, scrape the Site, or use automated tools to generate a high volume of mockups;
  • attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or resell the mockup tool, our templates, or the underlying software; or
  • upload or transmit any virus, malware, or other harmful code, or otherwise interfere with the Site's or Service's normal operation.

We may suspend or terminate access to the Site or the Service, without notice, for anyone we reasonably believe is breaching this section.

10. Third-party services and links

Building and hosting your site may involve third-party infrastructure (for example, hosting, DNS, image and font providers) and, where you ask us to, third-party integrations. Your finished site may also link to third-party websites (for example, social media or a map). We aren't responsible for the content, availability, or practices of third-party websites or services we don't control, and your use of them is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

11. Availability and support

We aim to keep hosted sites available at all times, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may need to suspend access for maintenance, security, or reasons outside our control (see section 17, Force majeure), and we'll try to keep any planned downtime brief and, where practical, give you notice.

12. Warranties

We'll provide the Service using reasonable care and skill, consistent with our obligations under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 (as applicable to services supplied to you as a business).

We don't promise any particular business outcome from having a KoalaWeb site — for example, we don't guarantee search-engine rankings, traffic, enquiries, or sales, as these depend on many factors outside our control.

Except as set out in these Terms, the Site, the mockup tool and the Service are provided "as is" and we exclude all other warranties, conditions and terms, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

13. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
  • any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law.

Subject to the paragraph above, we are not liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings, or loss of or damage to data, arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service.

Subject to the first paragraph of this section, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Service, however it arises, is limited to the greater of £280 and the total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses or costs we reasonably incur arising from Your Content infringing someone else's rights, or from your breach of section 2 (Agreeing to these terms) or section 9 (Acceptable use).

15. Data protection

We each agree to comply with our respective obligations under UK data protection law (including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) in connection with the Service. Details of how we collect, use and protect personal data are set out in our Privacy Policy.

16. Term, cancellation and termination

The build engagement ends once we've delivered your finished site (subject to the money-back guarantee in section 6). The hosting subscription continues month to month until either of us cancels it.

  • You may cancel hosting at any time by emailing hello@koalaweb.io; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you've already paid for, and we don't refund the current period unless the money-back guarantee applies.
  • We may suspend or take a site offline if a hosting payment remains unpaid for more than 14 days after we've reminded you, or terminate immediately for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms (for example, unlawful content or a breach of section 9).
  • On cancellation or termination, we'll keep a copy of your site's content for 30 days in case you want to move elsewhere or reactivate, and will provide a copy on request within that window; after that, we may delete it.

17. Force majeure

We aren't liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations that is caused by events outside our reasonable control, including outages of third-party infrastructure we rely on (such as hosting or domain registries), internet or power failures, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Service or the law. We'll post the updated Terms here with a new "Last updated" date, and where a change materially affects an active hosting customer, we'll email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

19. Complaints

If something's gone wrong, please email us at hello@koalaweb.io and we'll do our best to put it right. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and resolve them as quickly as we reasonably can.

20. General terms

  • These Terms (together with our Privacy Policy and any order details we confirm with you) are the entire agreement between us about the Service, and replace any earlier discussions or agreements about it.
  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • If we don't enforce a right under these Terms straight away, that doesn't mean we've given it up.
  • You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent; we may transfer ours, for example as part of a sale of our business, provided your service isn't materially affected.
  • No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

21. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, although if you're based in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.
