The short version: we build you a website for a one-off £280 fee and host it for £20 a month, cancel anytime. The free mockup you see before paying anything is an illustrative preview, not a finished product. If you're not happy with your finished site, tell us within 14 days and we'll refund the build fee in full. The full terms below cover the detail and your legal rights — please read them.
This website at koalaweb.io (the "Site") and the website-build and hosting service described on it (the "Service") are operated by KoalaWeb ("KoalaWeb", "we", "us" or "our"), a UK business.
You can contact us at hello@koalaweb.io. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
By browsing the Site, using the mockup tool, or buying the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the Site or the Service.
The Service is intended for businesses and self-employed people buying a website for their trade, business or profession, and you confirm that you are acting for those purposes and have the authority to accept these Terms on behalf of the business you represent (for example, if you're an employee or contractor instructing us).
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Site or buy the Service.
The Site lets you paste in your existing website address (or business name) and see a generated preview of what a new KoalaWeb site could look like (a "Mockup"). The Mockup is:
You must only enter a website or business you are authorised to request a preview for (typically, your own business). We may remove or refuse to generate a Mockup at our discretion, including where we suspect misuse.
A saved Mockup is a sales preview, not a live website. It only goes live for the public if you buy the Service and we deploy it, as described below.
Once you approve a Mockup and pay the one-off build fee, we will:
While your monthly hosting fee is active, we also host the site, keep it running, make small ongoing updates on request (for example, changing your hours, adding a photo, or updating your menu), and provide reasonable email support at hello@koalaweb.io. "Small updates" means changes that don't amount to a redesign or a new section of the site — we'll tell you if something you ask for is outside that scope and quote separately for it.
Any timelines we give (for example, "live in a week") are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates, and depend on how quickly you provide the content, photos and approvals we need from you.
If we need to register a domain name or third-party service on your behalf, we'll agree this with you first and pass through any third-party cost at cost, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
If you're not happy with the finished site we deliver, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we will refund the one-off £280 build fee in full — no questions asked. To claim the guarantee, email hello@koalaweb.io within that 14-day window.
Once the guarantee is used, we'll take the site offline and any hosting fees paid for the same period will also be refunded on a pro-rata basis; hosting fees for periods before that aren't covered, as they relate to hosting already provided. The guarantee applies once per business and doesn't affect your other legal rights, including your rights under section 12 (Warranties).
To build and maintain your site, we need you to provide accurate, up-to-date business information, and any text, photos, logos or other material you'd like us to use ("Your Content"). By giving us Your Content, you confirm that:
Where you don't provide enough content for a section of the site (for example, no photos), we may use suitable stock imagery or AI-generated placeholder content and flag it to you for approval before the site goes live. We never invent facts about your business (opening hours, pricing, claims, and so on) — anything we're missing is flagged to you rather than guessed.
Once you've paid the build fee in full, you own the final content of your site (your business name, text, photos and other materials you provided or approved for it). We grant you a licence to use the underlying page design, code and templates for as long as we host the site for you, or until you export it as described below.
We (or our licensors) own all rights in the KoalaWeb name, logo, the Site, the mockup tool, our page templates, and the software and technology used to build and host sites — nothing in these Terms transfers those rights to you.
We may reference your business name and a screenshot of your finished site in our own marketing and portfolio (for example, on this Site). If you'd rather we didn't, just let us know at hello@koalaweb.io and we'll take it down.
When using the Site, the mockup tool, or the Service, you agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate access to the Site or the Service, without notice, for anyone we reasonably believe is breaching this section.
Building and hosting your site may involve third-party infrastructure (for example, hosting, DNS, image and font providers) and, where you ask us to, third-party integrations. Your finished site may also link to third-party websites (for example, social media or a map). We aren't responsible for the content, availability, or practices of third-party websites or services we don't control, and your use of them is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
We aim to keep hosted sites available at all times, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may need to suspend access for maintenance, security, or reasons outside our control (see section 17, Force majeure), and we'll try to keep any planned downtime brief and, where practical, give you notice.
We'll provide the Service using reasonable care and skill, consistent with our obligations under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 (as applicable to services supplied to you as a business).
We don't promise any particular business outcome from having a KoalaWeb site — for example, we don't guarantee search-engine rankings, traffic, enquiries, or sales, as these depend on many factors outside our control.
Except as set out in these Terms, the Site, the mockup tool and the Service are provided "as is" and we exclude all other warranties, conditions and terms, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
Subject to the paragraph above, we are not liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings, or loss of or damage to data, arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service.
Subject to the first paragraph of this section, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Service, however it arises, is limited to the greater of £280 and the total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses or costs we reasonably incur arising from Your Content infringing someone else's rights, or from your breach of section 2 (Agreeing to these terms) or section 9 (Acceptable use).
We each agree to comply with our respective obligations under UK data protection law (including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) in connection with the Service. Details of how we collect, use and protect personal data are set out in our Privacy Policy.
The build engagement ends once we've delivered your finished site (subject to the money-back guarantee in section 6). The hosting subscription continues month to month until either of us cancels it.
We aren't liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations that is caused by events outside our reasonable control, including outages of third-party infrastructure we rely on (such as hosting or domain registries), internet or power failures, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Service or the law. We'll post the updated Terms here with a new "Last updated" date, and where a change materially affects an active hosting customer, we'll email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
If something's gone wrong, please email us at hello@koalaweb.io and we'll do our best to put it right. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and resolve them as quickly as we reasonably can.
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, although if you're based in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.
